Adult Adventures in Faith

We are never too old to learn and certainly not too old to learn
about ourselves.  Many adults are participating in several studies

MONDAY AFTERNOON BIBLE STUDY BEGINS SEPTEMBER 25 On Monday, September 25th at 1:00 PM, we’ll kick-off the fall Bible Study season with Adam Hamilton’s “Creed,” an in depth study of the Apostle’s Creed. We’re used to answers popping up on a screen right in front of us. But when the questions examine the truths that give meaning and purpose to life, finding the answers takes more than simply typing a few words and pushing a button. Adam Hamilton believes that powerful answers to many of our complicated questions are contained in the Apostles’ Creed, an early statement of foundational Christian beliefs. In Creed, he explores not only what Christians believe, but also why they believe, and why it matters, which in turn leads readers to confront and examine their own core beliefs and go beyond reciting the Creed’s familiar words. Chapters include: God, Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit, The Church at the Communion of Saints, The Forgiveness of Sins, The Resurrection of the Body. Books for this study will be available in the Narthex in early September; or call the church office to have one reserved for you.

SATURDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY Bible studies continue on Saturday mornings at 9:00 AM. They are held in the Church lounge. For more information, contact Deb Kelleher.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL – 10:45 AM Our Adult Sunday School Class will begin the year with a Grace-Full Life by Jorge Acevedo beginning September 17. Grace is God's all-reaching, never-ending, game-changing love for you and me. In this series, Jorge Acevedo and Wes Olds examine God's Word and discover how grace works in our lives and in our world. A Grace-Full Life seeks to answer the questions: In what ways is God an ever-present God?, Why does God want to have a personal relationship with me?, How can I fully experience and respond to God's grace?, How can I die well surrounded by God's grace? Themes include: • Prevenient grace: God's wooing or drawing grace • Justifying grace: God's saving grace • Sanctifying grace: God's grace that makes us more like Jesus • Glorifying grace: God's grace that welcomes us to eternity

SUPPORT GROUP GriefShare is a support group for those who are grieving the loss of loved ones. A new cycle of GriefShare will begin on Thursday, September 21 at 6:30 PM.
