UPCOMING EVENTS AT SUMC:

HOLY GROUNDS COFFEE AND CONVERSATION Come and visit with Pastor Judy 
every Tuesday from 10 AM to 11 AM at McDonald’s in Shavertown for a cup of coffee 
or tea and conversation; or stop by with a prayer request or two.  Looking forward to 
connecting with the community!  

WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY will begin on Wednesday continues at 6:30 PM. 
The study by Jorge Acevedo, is called A Grace-Full Life, and is four sessions.  Study books
are available in the Narthex.

BACK MOUNTAIN FOOD PANTRY: Our focus for May will be paper towels, toilet paper,
peanut butter and jelly. Please place items in the container on the mission table in the
Narthex.

NEW SERMON SERIES: #hashtae. We live in a culture of social media. Millions of people add
their voice through a sea of opinions on social media every day. How can anyone find
anything of spiritual significance in a hashtag? Let's explore today's topics through the lens of
God's Word.

lf you or someone in your family is graduatins from high school or college this year, please
send the following information to Pastor Judy at jwalker@susumc.org: Name of Graduate,
school, major, future plans, and a photo. We will recognize our graduates at worship on
Saturday and Sunday, June 17 and 1g.

COMMUNITY DINNER will be held on Sunday, June 4th from 4-6 PM af the pavilion The menu
will be picnic foods! Help is needed setting up, grilling and cleaning up. please sign up in the
Narthex.

PRAYER GARDEN -Do you like to garden? We are in need of a person or persons to care for
the prayer garden this spring and summer. Responsibilities include weeding and planting
some flowers, watering and general maintenance to keep the prayer garden looking fresh and
wellcared for. There are memorialfunds available to purchase flowers and plants. lf you are
interested, please contact the church office at 675-3616.
